Training

Do you wish your puppy would come straight back when it is called? Do you wish your dog would sit quietly at your side when shooting? Would you like some help????

PUPPY
We can help with practical advice on how to start training your puppy from the day you pick it up, whether it is to be a much loved pet, or whether it is going to be a working companion in the shooting field.

Puppy training covers teaching your dog to come to the recall, walking to heel on and off the lead, meeting other puppies and dogs, sitting and staying, manners in the house and outside, and it cements the foundations for future training.

BASIC OBEDIENCE
For all varieties of dogs. It builds on the puppy training aspects and can include specific problem solving such as chasing bicycles, refusing to get in the car etc

GUNDOGS
The right way to introduce your dog to work in the field, from building on the puppy foundations through to competing in field trials, or becoming a member of a local shoot.

We can give you an insight into what to expect on a day at a Working Test, a day Picking-up, or your first Field Trial, and we can make sure you and your dog are fully prepared.

RESIDENTIAL
Dogs can be taken on a residential basis for training, short or long stays depending on the client's requirements. As we have bed and breakfast facilities, clients can also come and stay with their dogs and learn together. This can either be as individuals or as a group.

CLASSES
Group tuition, a maximum of 6 people or individual private classes of an hour. If there are specific problems, time will be dictated by the success of the dog, not by the hour.

We pride ourselves on working with each individual dog, tailoring the training to the dog's specific needs, even in a class environment. Our training is based on making sure the dog understands what is required of it, taking small building blocks to achieve our goals, and, most of all, making sure the dog has success in the exercises. All our training is reward based.

Jane has a very positive and encouraging attitude in her training, and never makes one feel an idiot, even when one is being particularly inept. She is a great confidence giver, which transmits itself to both dog and handler and her training sessions, whilst thorough, are extremely enjoyable.

l have been training with Jane for 9 months and I have found her training techniques to be excellent and the change in my dog's behaviour has been fantastic ,I would have no hesitation in recommending her for either one to one sessions or group training.
